While the cause of the problem is still unknown, Samsung has acknowledged a screen flickering problem on the smartphone and said that it will soon bring a fix with a software update.
According to user reports on TwitterThe display of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra flickers when set to QHD+ resolution and Natural color mode. The flicker effect appears when a user tries to unlock the screen using the in-display fingerprint sensor. Some people have also reported problems while watching videos on YouTube. Some users have reported problems on replacement units as well. The case seems to be from the first batch Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra buyer. GSMArena also pointed out the same issue with its review unit, which means it’s a widespread bug that isn’t limited to a few customers.
samsung has promised to fix it via a software update in response to users on social media. Meanwhile, the company has suggested users to change the display resolution to Full-HD+ to avoid screen flicker. A Samsung moderator also confirmed the fix on Reddit. In this response too, the moderator advised users to switch to the Vivid display mode and bring the resolution down to full-HD+ temporarily. It is not known when Samsung will launch this update.

Samsung Galaxy S22 price starts at Rs 72,999 for vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ price starts at Rs 84,999, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra price in India starts at Rs 1,09,999. The smartphone is already available for pre-order in India and will go on sale in multiple markets from today.
