Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini accused by Swiss authorities of paying more than 2 million Swiss francs

Switzerland’s Attorney General’s (OAG) office said on Tuesday that former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former UEFA president Michel Platini have been charged with illegally arranging payments of 2 million Swiss francs ($2.19 million).

“OAG charged Joseph Blatter with fraud in the option of criminal mismanagement as well as forgery of a document,” OAG said in a statement.

“Michel Platini has been charged with fraud, in the option of participating in the misappropriation, of participating in criminal mismanagement, as an accomplice, as well as of forgery of a document.”
