Solve the water problem in the villages in five years, CM YS Jagan told the officials

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy advised the officials of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (PR&RD) department to solve the water shortage in the villages by connecting all the tanks to the feeder channels through canals in the next five years. This would be useful, especially in Anantapur and Cuddapah districts, he said, calling for an action plan for the same.

He also ordered the early completion of the construction of Rythu Bharosa centres, village secretariats, digital libraries and village clinics.

In the review meeting of the working of PR&RD department on Monday, Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the government faced a lot of difficulties due to pendency of bills for the works executed during the TDP regime, but they were cleared by the present government. Went. of constraints for the development of villages keeping in view the priority attached to it.

He wanted that the bills related to Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA) should be uploaded and the payment should also be done soon. If necessary, an officer should be deputed to Delhi specifically to deal with any issue that may come to the fore in the sanction of funds to the State for the work done.

The Chief Minister said that a borewell should be dug in each assembly constituency under the ‘YSR Jalakala’ scheme and asked officials to ensure that every farmer with less than five acres of land has a borewell free of cost in his holdings. Only drilling will be done without any charges from the farmers having land of five to 10 acres.

He directed that road construction work should be started in the villages by May 20 and there should be no potholes anywhere.

Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to display photographs of the works done under Nadu-Nedu in the education, health and road sectors in the village and ward secretariats. He said that provision of drinking water facilities in Jagannath colonies under Jal Jeevan Mission should be given priority and focus should be on safe disposal of solid waste in rural areas. Villages should have a proper solid waste management plan by October 2.

The officials told the Chief Minister that by the said date, two crore dustbins are being prepared for distribution in the villages so that door-to-door collection of garbage can be done.

Liquid waste management should be done systematically in 13,000 villages, said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Officials said there were plans to set up 46 liquid effluent treatment plants and 632 de-sledding machines would be procured later.

The Chief Minister said that steps should be taken to address the problem of salinity of drinking water in East and West Godavari districts, fluorosis in Uddhanam and contamination of water with uranium in Cuddapah district.

Deputy Chief Minister and PR&RD Minister B Mutyala Naidu, Principal Secretary (PR&RD) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi and Commissioner K Shashidhar and Special Commissioner Shanti Priya Pandey were present.
