India A South Africa A took five wickets at 233 for seven on the first day of the second unofficial Test on Tuesday. Indian pacers Navdeep Saini (2/54), Ishan Porel (2/26) and left-armer Arjan Nagwaswala (1/44) shared five wickets, while spinner Saurabh Kumar (1/64) and spinner Saurabh Kumar (1/64) shared five wickets. Baba Aparajit (1/34) contributed a batsman each. Georg Linde (44) was his side’s top scorer on day one. Nagwaswala dismissed rival skipper Peter Malan (0) in his very first over, before openers Sarel Irvi (38) and Renard van Tonder (34) put on a 72-run partnership.

Coming to bat, South African A batsmen Zubair Hamza (31) and Synthemba Keshile (32) and Linde (44) started well but could not cover the distance as the Indian bowlers continued to strike at regular intervals.

Linde’s innings included three fours and a maximum. He had a 53-run partnership with Marco Janssen (38 not out) before Saini was dismissed in the 83rd over.

Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sarfaraz Naushad Khan bowled an over each and kept wickets.
