Suspense ends in Lucknow Cantt seat as Aparna Yadav, Rita Joshi’s son miss out BJP, elected minister

Aparna Yadav, daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayank Joshi, son of BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi, were thrown out of the high-profile battle for Lucknow Cantt ahead of the crucial assembly election as the BJP ended the suspense. on Lucknow seats and the names of your candidates.

In the Sarojini Nagar seat, which was eyeing state women’s welfare minister Swati Singh and her husband Dayashankar Singh, the BJP has fielded former Enforcement Directorate officer Rajeshwar Singh, whose voluntary retirement was accepted by the central government.

Minister of State Brajesh Pathak has been elected from Lucknow Cantonment seat, from where Yadav and Joshi’s son were expected to contest. Rita Joshi had defeated Yadav in this seat in the last election and it is considered a safe bet for the BJP.

Polling in this seat will be held on February 23 in the fourth phase of elections. It has over 3,00,000 voters, mostly upper caste Hindus.

The BJP had won eight of the nine seats in Lucknow in the last state elections.

Another Minister of State Ashutosh Tandon has been given ticket from Lucknow East, while Rajneesh Gupta has been declared as candidate from Lucknow Central.

Elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases. In the UP elections 2022, the first phase of polling will be held on February 10, while the second phase, third and fourth phase of polling will be held on February 14, 20 and 23 respectively. Polling will be held in the fifth, sixth and second phases on February 27 and March 3 and March 7 respectively.

The Election Commission will declare the results of Uttar Pradesh elections on March 10.
