Suzlon Energy chairman Tulsi Tanti dies of heart attack

Tulsi Tanti, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Suzlon Energy and renowned expert on renewable energy, passed away on the evening of 1 October due to cardiac arrest.

“With deepest sorrow, we inform you about the untimely demise of Mr. Tulsi R. Tanti, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, and one of the promoters of Suzlon Energy Limited (“The Company”) on 1st October 2022. Mr. Tanti suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on the same day,” the company said in a regulatory filing.

In these difficult times, the Company is backed by its highly experienced Board of Directors and Senior Management, who are competent and committed to carry forward Mr. Tanti’s legacy and bring to life his vision for the Company.

Tanti, 64, who was also the president of the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.

He is survived by daughter Nidhi and son Pranav.

Tanti led the wind revolution in India with the founding of Suzlon Energy in 1995. He envisioned the opportunity in the Indian renewable energy industry at a time when the global wind energy market was dominated by international players and characterized by costly and complex technologies that were rampant. impractical for traditional businesses.
