T20 World Cup 2022: Rain threat looms large over England-Pakistan final

The ICC T20 World Cup final between England and Pakistan to be held on November 13 is facing the threat of rain, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting a 95 per cent chance of rain.

The final of the World Cup will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Cricket fans across the world are waiting for the T20 World Cup to peak but the final may either be pushed to the reserve day or the cup may be forced to look into the possibility of being shared by both the teams.

There is a 95 percent chance of rain with 8 to 20 mm of rain on Sunday.

“Cloudy. Very high (close to 100%) chance of rain. Thunderstorms, possibly severe. Light winds becoming north-northeast at 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, then Moving north to northwest during the day,” the Bureau of Meteorology predicted Friday morning.

The weather for Reserve Day, Monday, November 14, is not encouraging and there is a 95 per cent chance of rain on this day.

“Cloudy to cloudy. Very high (95%) chance of rain, most likely in the morning and afternoon. Chance of thunderstorm. Northwesterly winds at 15 to 20 km/h 25 to 40 west to southwest km/h. Will turn west in the morning again at a speed of 15 to 25 km/h in the evening,” is the weather forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne on Monday.

The tournament has been affected by rain and the matches were washed out without a single ball being bowled.

Sunday’s final could meet the same fate, in what could be a sad ending to perhaps the best T20 World Cup in history; Due to the fact that it saw unexpected results and was full of twists and turns.
