Taapsee Pannu wraps up shooting for Mithali Raj’s biopic ‘Shabash Mithu’

In the film, the actor plays the role of Mithali Raju, the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team.

Taapsee Pannu on Tuesday said that she has completed shooting for her upcoming film “Shabaash Mithu”, which is a biopic on Indian cricketer Mithali Raj.

In the film, the “Thappad” star plays the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team.

The 34-year-old actor posted a picture on Instagram announcing the wrap.

“I was 8 years old when someone made me dream that one day cricket will not be just a gentlemen’s game. We will also have a team, an identity. ‘Women in Blue’. We are coming soon. #ShabaashMithu It’s a film That’s the wrap! Get ready to cheer for World Cup 2022! #WomenInBlue,” wrote Pannu.

“Shabash Mithu” is directed by Srijit Mukherji, who replaced filmmaker Rahul Dholakia after the latter had to drop the project due to a change in schedule.

Backed by Viacom18 Studios, “Shabash Mithu” started shooting in Mumbai in April, but due to the second wave of COVID-19, its shooting was put on hold.

The makers have also shot the film at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Pannu was recently seen in another sports drama, “Rashmi Rocket” and has her first production venture with films like “Loop Lapeta”, Anurag Kashyap’s “Dobaara” and the thriller “Blur”.
