Tamil Nadu Police has arrested a 23-year-old woman for allegedly torturing her two-year-old child. The incident came to light after several disturbing videos circulated online, prompting police action and the arrest of the mother.

One of the videos was reportedly filmed in February by the woman – identified as Tulsi – herself; She can be seen hitting her son Pradeep on his face and continues to do so as he is bleeding.

Another showed him kicking the child’s leg while crying in pain and then hitting him with a sandal.

Sometimes he can be seen crying too.

Yet another video shows horrific marks on the child’s back, indicating that he may have been flogged.

Tulsi and the child’s father, both in agriculture, got divorced recently.

Police also believe that the woman’s plan to remarry led to an altercation with her ex.

She added, “Prima facie, it also appears that she was in touch with some other person and they were planning to get married. This led to a marital dispute with husband Vadivazhagan, which also prompted her to molest the child. did.”

Police are on the lookout for the man with whom she was allegedly in a relationship.

A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, murder, causing hurt and kidnapping has been registered. According to the police, psychiatrists have certified Tulsi to be mentally sound and free from mental health issues.

This happened after a magistrate ordered the police to examine his mental health.
