Teacher’s day: Teacher’s Day is celebrated since 1962 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan, the second President of India. This day is celebrated to honor all the teachers and their contribution towards the students.
Radha Krishnan was a great teacher when he asked his students to celebrate his birthday, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be a matter of pride for me to celebrate 5th of September as Teacher’s Day.”

1. Dr. Radhakrishnan’s students loved him so much that he was taken from the University of Mysore to the railway station in a flower-adorned carriage pulled by his students from the University of Mysore.
2. He used to donate a major part of his salary as President every month to PM’s National Relief Fund.
3. He was appointed as a Knight Bachelor in 1931 and elected as a Fellow of the British Academy in 1938. He also received the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade in 1961.
4. Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan received the Templeton Award in 1975. However, he donated the entire amount of the award to Oxford University.
5. He also contributed to the world of literature by writing books like The Philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore and The Reign of Religion in Contemporary Philosophy.
6. Dr. Radha Krishnan was appointed as an Ambassador to UNESCO in 1946 and later as an Ambassador to the Soviet Union in 1949. As the chairman of the Central Education Commission in 1948, he reformed and reformed India’s education system. ,
