Winner of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) University of Auckland Business The case team competition was announced on Saturday, 20 August at the New Zealand High Commission in Delhi. A team from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai bagged the first prize with a proposal to promote sustainable farming and conscious living through hydroponic farming.
Their initiative focused on developing small scale greenhouses in residential complexes for consumers to take healthy and fresh salad greens and harvest the produce on the same day.
In all, 20 teams from universities and colleges India Presented business cases proposing creative, innovative and viable solutions to drive transformative change, addressing at least one of the 17 SDGs in their local area.

“I am impressed by the potential of this year’s productions and their innovative approach to addressing some of the biggest challenges of our time,” he said.
“Our students and future leaders need to incorporate sustainable development into all of their thinking; If it doesn’t start now, it will have implications around the world.”
Members of three top teams, including SRM Institute of Science and technology and Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, ranked in the Virtual Micro Internship Program of the University of Auckland, along with New Zealand Business. The winning Narsee Monjee Institute team also received a grant of NZ$5,500 for a program of study at the University of Auckland
