A terrorist involved in the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama was killed by security forces today.

According to police, terrorist Aaqib Mushtaq Bhat was killed during an encounter with security forces following a joint operation by the army and police in Padgampora village of Pulwama district.

Referring to the terror, J&K Police tweeted, “The killed terrorist has been identified as Aqib Mustaq Bhat of Pulwama (A Category). The encounter began at 1:30 pm today when security forces received information that two terrorists were hiding in Awantipora in Pulwama district.

Sanjay Sharma, who was going to the market on Sunday, was shot and seriously injured by the terrorists. He was taken to a government hospital, where he died. He reportedly worked as a security guard in a bank.

Sunday’s attack was the first attack on a Hindu civilian in Jammu and Kashmir in the last four months. Terrorists carried out several targeted attacks on Kashmiri Pandits and non-locals in the past year.
