The maximum city accounts for about 70% of the NSE’s business.

Mumbai alone accounts for 68.8% of NSE’s cash market turnover 9.79 lakh crore business in July. The SEBI data shows that in the financial year from July, the city has a share of 67.8%.

Ahmedabad follows Mumbai in second place for 10.3% of the turnover in July. It is followed by Kolkata (5.6%) and Delhi (3.9%).

Average daily trading of NSE in July 46,602 crore as compared to BSE 3,223 crores.

Proprietary traders accounted for 27.9% of the NSE’s cash turnover during April-July, followed by FPIs (14.5%), MFs (7.8%) and banks (0.1%).
