If only the show would break away from the shadow of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and become its own beast, it would be really great instead of just being good
British fantasy writer China Mivil had some unprintable—and frankly anatomically—inaccurate things to say about JRR Tolkien. Tolkien and Peter Jackson (who directed the blockbuster movies) seem to have been punished for being excellent at their work with all these imitations. Wonder what will happen to the series based on The Lord of the Rings Commissioned by Amazon? Although it must have been set before the events of the trilogy, one wonders whether the cycle of creative cannibalism will ever be broken.

Back wheel of time and pour The Lord of the Rings Firmly on the back burner (yes, Aragorn and Legolas too), as noted in a review of the first two episodes, the show seems to be bowling smoothly over a well-worn track with coupling love, lust, fear. The second season has been rolled out, and as Jordan has written 14 books and a prequel with 2,782 named characters, there doesn’t seem to be any danger of running out of source material.
Hopefully wheel of time had to get away from the shadow of The Lord of the Rings And be your own animal, it would be really cool instead of just being nice.
