Thoughts on woman marrying unemployed men from first Aadhaar holder: Questions asked in UPSC Civil Services Interview

UPSC interview, also known as personality test, is considered to be one of the toughest interview rounds. From the time a candidate enters the interview hall, his/her every move is being thoroughly scrutinised. There is no strict guideline on the type of questions asked during the exam.

The questions asked in UPSC Civil Services Interview can range from ethics and mental state, and helps the panel to analyze even the deepest features of the candidate. Here are some tough questions asked in the exam and how the candidates tackled them.

One such candidate, Kumar Keshav, appeared for a mock interview before the final deal and was faced with some tricky questions, the answers to which were tricky. Keshav, who secured All India Rank 491 in UPSC 2020, was judicious along with the QnA session. The panel asked, “What are your views on a woman marrying an unemployed man?”

Keshav pondered over the question and replied, “It depends on the girl. It’s his choice. If she sees the man as someone she can spend her life with, then she has every right to do so. Maybe, the person is preparing for an exam or setting up a start-up and hasn’t got a job yet.”

The panel decided to put the question on hold and proceed. So the next version of the question was, “What would you say if they both decided that the woman would go and earn money and the man would stay home and work?”

Keshav, maintaining his confidence and analytical abilities, replied, “I have no problem if the couple has decided together. I don’t see any problem with it. If anyone personally feels that woman should earn and man should stay at home, then he should go ahead. We are following a century-old tradition anyway.”

recently, Oxford University also asked difficult questions in its entrance examination. The university asked, “A combination lock has three dials, each dial containing eight letters. The following combinations are known to have been used – one, who two, bob, ad, owl, fab, dane, mia and tat. Which one of the given options i.e. Jeet, Deb, Topi, Male, Bura is not possible to use on this combination lock?

UPSC declared its results for 2020 on 24 September. A total of 761 candidates were selected for the posts in various departments and profiles. Shubham Kumar, a resident of Katihar district of Bihar, has become the topper in this year’s UPSC examination.
