Tiger keeps officers and people tied

The movement of tigers in several mandals of both Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram-Manyam districts is keeping the officials and villagers under stress.

The tiger has so far killed six cows in both the districts.

Parvathipuram Manyam Collector Nishant Kumar informed District Forest Officer S. Venkatesh to take all necessary steps to alleviate the suffering of the people suffering from sleepless nights.

Mr. Venkatesh said that special teams have been formed to keep a watch on the movements of the tiger.

He said that it was found running between Parvathipuram-Manyam and Alluri Sitarama Raju districts at present. An action plan was being finalized to protect people and pets. The forest department is taking steps to compensate the owners of domestic animals killed by the tiger.
