TMC’s Anubrata Mandal did not appear before CBI, says ready to face spies in flat

Trinamool Congress veteran Anubrata Mondal did not appear before CBI officials at his office here in connection with the probe into the post-poll violence citing health reasons, but said he would face questioning at his residence. are ready for A source close to Mandal said that despite ill health, the Birbhum district president of TMC is ready for questioning at his flat in Kolkata.

Mandal has informed us stating his inability to come to the Nizam’s Palace office due to his ill health. A CBI official told PTI that he has given his consent for questioning at his flat here. On Saturday too, the TMC leader did not visit the office of the CBI, which summoned him in connection with a cattle smuggling case, and wrote to the central agency seeking his appearance for four weeks citing his health condition.

Doctors have advised Mandal to take ‘complete rest’ for the next two to three weeks. He was discharged from the Government SSKM Hospital here on Friday evening, 17 days after being admitted there due to health issues.

The CBI has constituted a special medical team to ascertain Mandal’s current health. Mandal had earlier avoided appearing before the CBI several times citing health issues and election related work.
