Beverage Companies (CIABC). Compared to the massive increase in imports of Scotch whisky, the domestic industry “grew a little over 20%”, Mr Giri said. He argued that even without an FTA between the UK and India, the growth in sales of Scotch whiskey “questions the very need for an FTA”.

“We would also like to highlight the importance of minimum entry price of $5 per bottle for a product to avail concessions under the FTA. In the absence of such safeguards, we can bid goodbye to the domestic industry,” Mr. Giri he said.
