Trinamool’s Saket Gokhale has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a case related to alleged misappropriation of funds collected through crowdfunding. He is currently in jail in Gujarat in a cheating case. Sources in the agency said Mr Gokhale is accused of misappropriating Rs 1.07 crore collected through crowd-funding.

He is currently in Gujarat jail in a fraud case.

Mr Gokhale was arrested by the Ahmedabad Cyber ​​Crime Branch on December 30, 2022 in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds collected through crowdfunding from Delhi. This was the third time Mr. Gokhale was arrested by the Gujarat Police.

He was first arrested on December 6 for sharing fake news related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Morbi in Gujarat, when an old suspension bridge there collapsed, killing 135 people.
