News agency ANI reported that the state government had refused permission to travel citing orders banning large gatherings.

Congress general secretary Ms Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday alleged that she is being kept illegally in a police compound in Sitapur and even after 38 hours of custody, no notice or FIR has been given to her and she was not allowed to meet her legal counsel. permission has not been granted. .

In a statement, he said that he has not been produced before a magistrate or any other judicial officer nor has he been allowed to meet his legal counsel, who has been standing at the gate of the premises since morning.

“At present I am not going to go into the details of wholly illegal physical force used on my associates and me at the time of my arrest as this statement is only to illustrate the continued illegality of my imprisonment at PAC premises in Sitapur, U.P. Works,” she said.

“No order or notice has been served to me. Nor have they shown me an FIR. I have not been produced before any magistrate or any other judicial officer. I have not even been allowed to meet my legal counsel. Standing at the gate since morning,” the Congress leader also said.

Ms Gandhi Vadra has been kept in custody since Monday morning as she wanted to meet the families of the victims of the Lakhimpur conflict.

She said she had seen part of a paper on social media in which officials named 11 people, including eight who were not even present when they were arrested.

He has also named two people who “brought my clothes from Lucknow on the afternoon of October 4”, she said.

Eight people were killed in violence on Sunday during farmers’ protests in Lakhimpur Kheri ahead of UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit, in which both farmers and BJP workers lost their lives.

Among the dead were four car occupants, apparently part of a convoy of BJP workers, who had come to welcome the UP minister and were attacked after allegedly crushing the protesting farmers.
