The accused woman called Dr. Siddharth Pandey and told the police that the 11-year-old child had suffered minor injuries in a fight between brothers and sisters.

An 11-year-old girl has been admitted to the Cantonment Board Hospital in the city with serious injuries.

Doctors not only found marks of torture on his body but also pieces of wood from his genitals.

The woman who brought the girl child to the hospital claims that she had adopted the minor. However, the police took the girl into custody after she did not give satisfactory answers to the questions asked about her injuries.

The accused woman called Dr. Siddharth Pandey and told that the 11-year-old child had suffered minor injuries in a brother-sister fight.

The next morning, he accompanied the girl to the hospital and the doctors were shocked to learn the nature of the injuries.

Dr Pandey said, “An X-ray revealed several old and fresh injuries on her body, including her private parts. After this a gynecologist examined her and found pieces of wood in her genitals. The girl’s hand was also broken. Seeing the injuries, we informed the police.”

The accused woman is a resident of an apartment in Dhumanganj area of ​​the city and her husband is a teacher in a reputed school.

The woman claimed that she adopted the girl from a shelter home in Kanpur, but the girl said that the accused had taken her home after the death of her mother and abandonment by her father.

The child also disclosed that he was kept hungry regularly and was not given food for more than 14 days in a month, Dr Pandey said.

Sharing more details, SHO of Dhumanganj police station, Rajesh Maurya said that the accused woman has been taken into custody and she is being interrogated.

We will take further action based on the findings of the inquiry, he said.

He said that the injured girl is undergoing treatment at the Cantonment Board Hospital.
