Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.
The Times reported that the United States took no part in the attack on Dugina and did not know about it ahead of time. The Times said that US officials have warned Ukrainian officials about the murder.
The newspaper said that some US officials suspected Dugina’s father, Alexander Dugin, who was a vocal supporter of the idea. Russia in what he calls his “special military operation”. Ukrainewas the real target of the murder.
After the attack, Ukraine denied involvement in the killing, while Russia’s Federal Security Service accused Ukraine’s secret services of being behind it.
Ukraine’s presidential adviser, Mykhailo Podolik, told Reuters on Thursday that there was no interest in Kyiv before Dugina’s assassination.
“Frankly speaking, Dugina was really of no interest to Ukraine,” he wrote on WhatsApp in response to a Reuters request for comment.
“Before Dugina’s assassination, the people of Ukraine and representatives of the Ukrainian authorities were not aware of her influence on her public activities and propaganda programs.
“In our opinion, the major beneficiaries of Dugina’s assassination were some Russian radical supporters of the war (in Ukraine). Including a section of (Russian) special services.”
He said Moscow had tried to use charges against Ukraine after the assassination to divert attention from allegations that some Russian soldiers had committed war crimes in Ukraine.
He said the dugin was used as a “sacred sacrifice” and an important propaganda symbol.
“The answer to the question ‘Who benefited from this?’ Clear in this matter,” he wrote.
