Uttarakhand: A bus carrying about 45 to 50 people fell into a gorge on Rikhnikhal-Birokhal road near Simdi village of Pauri Garhwal district on Tuesday.

After the news, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the State Disaster Management Center in Pauri Garhwal district.

Speaking about the incident, Dhami said, “Teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are rushing to the accident site. We are trying our best to bring all facilities to the accident site. Local villagers are helping in the rescue operation.”

The accident happened around 7.30 pm. Rescue operation has been started with the help of local people but the efforts of rescue workers are being hampered due to darkness.

Eyewitnesses said there was no lighting at the accident site and villagers were struggling to rescue the people trapped in the bus with the help of flash lights on their mobile phones.
