Vande Mataram, How May Help You…: No ‘Hello’, Maha Sarkar employees will now start phone calls like this

All government employees in Maharashtra will now say Vande Mataram instead of Namaste, while addressing phone calls, newly appointed Minister of Culture Sudhir Mungantiwar told CNN-News18 exclusively, adding that the order will be passed on August 18.

He said, ‘This is the 75th year of independence. When we were fighting the British, even when they opened fire on us, we kept repeating ‘Vande Mataram’ with the flag in our hands.

“Our department has decided that every government official, who draws his salary from our treasury, will start talks with Vande Mataram instead of Namaste. This campaign will continue till January 26.

Elaborating on the initiative, Mungantiwar said: “We are trying to ask the youth to join this initiative by using an app. We will try to bring 1 crore youth from across the state. The word ‘Vande Mataram’ will inspire every student and government employees across the state.

Explaining the reason behind the change, he said, “We should bring about a change in the 75th year of independence. The British left behind words like ‘hello’. As we approach the 100th year, we should promote words that inspire the spirit of patriotism.”
