Viral video shows rollercoaster ride to top of US Mountain with 110-foot drop

The spine-chilling video left social media users stunned.

The allure of rollercoaster rides lies in the thrill and awe that it instills in the riders. And as intimidating as it may be, the popularity of such rides is a testament to the fact that people love the adrenaline rush it gives them. Now, a terrifying video showing a rollercoaster 7,000 feet above sea level on top of a mountain is taking over social media.

The clip was shared by Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Colorado, US in June, but has recently resurfaced on other social media platforms. It depicts a rollercoaster named “Defense” coming down from a high altitude while people are screaming.

The theme park captioned the post, “Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3. Defense’s first official test run today! Anticipation is building and we are excited about it.”

The unique rollercoaster of its kind is located at America’s only mountain-top theme park. It has a 110-foot freefall, and at approximately 7,132 feet above sea level, it is the highest rollercoaster in the United States. Laddable, The spine-chilling ride also comes with a 41-foot zero-gravity roll.

The creepy video has taken social media users by surprise. In the comments section, while one user wrote, “No, my blood pressure goes down,” another said, “Oh my word it feels so greasy… just urethane on steel. So excited!”

A third commented, “Wow! Looks absolutely crazy”. A fourth added, “It must be really amazing to see a coaster like that in action!”

The Instagram video has garnered over 18,000 views and over 1,100 likes.

Meanwhile, speaking of rollercoasters, last month Guinness World Records officially announced that Hurricane CoasterLocated in the Dubai Hills Mall, is the world’s fastest vertical-launch rollercoaster. The Storm Coaster’s vertical launch speed of 41 kilometers per hour earned it the title of fastest vertical-launch rollercoaster from the record-keeping organization.
