Waiting period increases for Toyota Haider SUV

The Toyota Hyrider SUV has had a good start in the market since its launch last year. They have sold an average of 9,000 units per month. This, despite a waiting period of up to 15 months for the mid-hybrid variant and six to seven months for the strong-hybrid variant of the Haider.

On the other hand, the top-spec V variant has a wait of 10 months for the manual and two months for the automatic. Available only on the V trim with the mild-hybrid MT powertrain, the waiting period for the AWD variant is three to four months.

Toyota offers the Hyryder in four trims – E, S, G and V. It is producing very few units (or almost none) of the base-spec Hyryder. The waiting period for the base E and S trims on the mild hybrid line-up is currently over 24 months, making it impossible for you to get one.

Strong-hybrid variants of Haider are readily available across the range. The longest the customer will have to wait for the G trim is six to seven months for the robust hybrid. The top-spec V trim has an even shorter waiting period of three to four months. According to people in the know, this is because Toyota has prioritized sales of the strong-hybrid variant, as was the production plan from the start.

The waiting period for Maruti Grand Vitara is very short. Base Sigma and Delta mild-hybrid variants see a wait of up to eight months, while it’s five months for the high-spec Zeta and Alpha trims. Meanwhile, the Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims with the strong-hybrid powertrain only have a waiting period of three months.

In terms of sales, the Grand Vitara is ahead of the Haider. Since its launch, the Maruti Grand Vitara has sold an average of 6,200 units a month, while the Haider has managed around 3,000 units a month on an average.
