Summer is here, and we’ve officially started the season of parties, holidays and mangoes! The more we taste these things, the more important it is for us to maintain a healthy summer body. During the summer months, we lose a lot of water through sweating, which leads to dehydration. Other typical heat symptoms include skin irritation, rashes and heat stroke. Hence, it becomes more important that we stick to a healthy lifestyle.

‘It’s All About Journey’ founder Gaurav Pawar shares tips to help you get the perfect fit body for summer:

eat right

In summers it becomes necessary to have a clean diet. Your diet should include intake of fruits, less carbs and more protein. Foods like cottage cheese, cottage cheese and chicken are rich sources of protein. Healthy fats such as avocados, nuts and seeds and complex carbs such as leafy vegetables and millet should be part of your daily plate.

stay hydrated

The scorching sun and scorching heat make you sweat and dehydrate. Hydration is the only way to avoid heat stroke. Add a splash of flavor with fruits or herbs, water, coconut water, lemonade, detox drinks and smoothies are delicious options!

Skip sugary drinks and processed food

Excluding sugary drinks, alcohol and packaged foods will limit the calories in your diet. Instead, include more electrolytes in your diet, which will make you feel more energized and satisfied.

Exercise and focus on core

Humans weren’t designed to be sedentary, so got as much exercise as possible. There are many ways to keep functioning properly throughout the summer months – workout at least four days a week. Focus on strength and cardio training. Include HIIT training in your regime. Add more intensity techniques, such as dynamic and explosive movements.

Don’t underestimate the power of intervals that are healthy. The body needs time to recover after a strenuous workout. It also helps in building lean muscle mass!
