US President Joe Biden recently attended Detroit auto Show that had several high-end cars on display. A video of the President from his visit has now gone viral where he is seen driving an electric Cadillac joking that it is an Uber. In the clip shared widely on the Internet, Biden is seen driving the Cadillac Lyric, a luxury electric vehicle. Sitting behind the wheel, Biden arrives in the luxurious car as journalists gather to film him. As he drives, Biden jokingly offers reporters a lift, saying, “Come on, jump. I’ll give you a ride to Washington.”

Next, a reporter is heard asking Biden, “Is this my Uber? Uber ride? Prompting the President to smile and say “It’s an Uber.”
The car the US President was driving is a Cadillac Lyric which costs around $62,000 (approximately Rs 49 lakh). While the car is loaded with some ultra-modern features, it looks like it is still not the President’s favorite.
After taking the Cadillac for a spin, Biden said “It’s a beautiful car, but I love the Corvette.” The president had also jumped inside a non-electric flashy orange Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 and restarted its engine. According to the New York Post, Biden checked out a few other cars at the auto show, including an electric Chevrolet Silverado EV and an electric Ford Mustang Mach-E.
At the convention center, Biden highlighted the work his administration has done to promote electric vehicles. He also announced the approval of US$ 900 million which will be used to build EV charging stations in 35 states. “We are approving funding for the first 35 states, including Michigan, to build their own electric charging infrastructure across our state,” Biden said. According to ABC News, he also promoted the new EV tax credit introduced in the Inflation Reduction Act.
