We are ‘increasingly blind’ on Covid transmission, says WHO chief – Times of India

Geneva/London: Head of World Health Organization On Tuesday, countries were urged to maintain surveillance coronavirus infections, adding that we are “blind” to how the virus is spreading due to declining testing rates.
“As countries have reduced testing, WHO is getting less and less information about transmission and sequencing,” the director general tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a news conference at the UN agency’s headquarters in Geneva. “It makes us increasingly blind to patterns of transmission and evolution,” he said.
