Microsoft has launched the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core, an affordable version of its premium competition-grade Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 controller. Now, with the ‘Core’ moniker in the mix, Microsoft has made some logical compromises to bring down the price. It only comes in one color, with minimal in-box. Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Key Pricing and Availability
The new controller is scheduled to launch on September 21, 2022 at a price of Rs 10,990. Retailers like Amazon and Flipkart don’t have product pages yet. However, it is still reportedly going to be available in the Microsoft Store in select markets.
Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – What’s the difference between Core and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2?
For starters, the Series 2 Core only comes with two accessories in-box, including a thumbstick adjustment tool and a USB Type C cable. However, the more expensive Series 2 controller comes with additional accessories such as extra thumb sticks – classic (2), dome (1), tall (1), a set of four back pedals – short (2), medium ( 2 ) and additional D-pad.
The more expensive Series 2 sells for Rs 17,990, compared to Rs 10,990 for the new ‘core’ variant.

The build is also mostly identical with the same rubber grips, potentiometers, and buttons. Overall, Microsoft is giving consumers more options, considering that you can buy the missing components separately for Rs 5,290. Also, it is not for nothing that the combined price of the Elite Core + components is Rs 16,280, which makes it a cheaper proposition than the Elite Series 2’s sticker price of Rs 17,990.
