Bengaluru:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s roadshow on Friday at Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru was canceled due to heavy rains, BJP sources said.

The former BJP chief, one of the party’s key poll strategists and campaigners, arrived here on a two-day tour of the state to campaign ahead of the May 10 assembly polls.

Mr Shah was to hold a roadshow at Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district but had to cancel it due to rains in and around the taluk headquarters town.

During the visit, the party leaders are going to take stock of the party’s election preparations during talks with senior party officials.

This is Amit Shah’s first visit to the state after the election schedule was announced on March 29.

He is scheduled to attend a program organized by a private news channel on Saturday before returning to New Delhi.
