Form of words:

Lucknow: Jailed gangster and former MP Atiq Ahmed and his wife on Tuesday reacted sharply to the BJP in the presence of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, saying Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will not allow “Jinnah’s jihadi mentality” to flourish in Uttar Pradesh. .

Atiq’s wife Shaista Praveen joined the AIMIM at a press conference here, while Atiq Ahmed joined the new party in absentia.

Owaisi included former Samajwadi Party leader Ahmed and his wife by claiming that the SP Muslim Samaj Party and Bahujan Samaj Party used Muslims as slaves in their parties.

Defending his decision to include Ahmed, who has several criminal cases registered against him, Owaisi also said that many BJP leaders are also facing multiple cases.

“In UP, 37 per cent BJP MLAs have criminal cases. The BJP has serious criminal cases against 116 MPs and most of them have cases related to crimes against women.

The BJP reacted sharply to his statement and developments.

Giving security to a notorious like Atiq Ahmed in the name of providing security to the community, including him and his wife in AIMIM reflects the mindset of Owais. But keep in mind that Yogi ji will not allow Jinnah’s jihadi mentality to flourish in UP.

Inducting Ahmed and his wife into the AIMIM, Owais also said that his party has made all booth-level preparations to contest 100 of the total 403 assembly seats in UP.

“Muslims used to enslave the Samajwadi Party and BSP and used to raise slogans in their favor and form their government. But they didn’t talk when it came to participating,” he added

“AAP, SP, BSP did not want anyone from the Muslim community to emerge as a leader. As I am talking about giving participation to Muslims, they are feeling uncomfortable,” he said.

“When it comes to giving participation and representation to Muslims, they say it will lead to communalism. SP-BSP fought the elections together, yet BJP won. Muslims had voted for him. Where did all those votes go?” he said.

Owaisi said that his party’s aim is to defeat the BJP, Owaisi said that he is with Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and other parties are also with him.

On giving tickets to Hindus, Owaisi said, ‘OBCs are our brothers, we will give tickets to Dalits also and they will win.

Ahmed, a five-time MLA and one-time MP, has over 90 criminal cases including murder, kidnapping, illegal mining, extortion, intimidation and cheating. He is in jail in Gujarat.

He was transferred there from Uttar Pradesh in 2019 on the directions of the Supreme Court.

The police have so far taken action on his assets worth more than 200 crores. This action was taken against Atiq Ahmed under the Gangster Act

Apart from demolishing illegally constructed buildings by Atiq and his men, the Allahabad district administration has also attached several properties of him and his associates.
