NOIDA: While the formal announcement is likely to be made only on Sunday, the Samajwadi Party-RLD alliance has finalized its candidates from Noida and Dadri seats.
SP State Spokesperson Rajkumar Bhati Officially declared as candidate from Dadri, while businessman and two-time SP candidate from Noida has been declared Sunil Choudhary Will be fielded again from Noida.
A former journalist and professor at Mihir Bhoj Degree College, Bhati is the author of the song “Akhilesh Aa Rahe Hai”, the main anthem for the Samajwadi Party in its campaign for the UP Assembly elections. Talking to TOI, SP District President Bir Singh Yadav “Rajkumar Bhati got the party’s election symbol to contest the elections on Friday evening. Sunil Chaudhary is also getting the symbol.
Bhati has played an active role in many farmer movements. Meanwhile, Chowdhary was recently detained during the farmers’ agitation on the abadi land outside the Noida authority. Choudhary told TOI that his campaign will focus on taking up farmers’ issues, resolving pending registries of homebuyers and improving Ganga water access. Choudhary said getting Noida “freehold” status for leasehold land in Noida, was another election issue of the SP. Projects like elevated road, metro, underpass etc were conceived during the Akhilesh Yadav government. Noida doesn’t need a VVIP MLA, it doesn’t need a “raja” but a “sevak”. If the public gives me a chance, we will try to ensure that the kutcha colonies are regularised. “Hooliganism is being practiced by some builders in Noida,” he said.
