Haryana Health Department signs MoU with PGIMER Chandigarh to strengthen mental health in the state – Times of India

Chandigarh:Haryana Health Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday with PGIMER Chandigarh to strengthen mental health and de-addiction services in the state.
Health Minister Anil Vij said that the Health Department has cooperated department of psychiatryTo set up PGIMER, Chandigarh tele mental health clinic and to strengthen mental health and de-addiction services in the State. Initially Tele Mental Health Clinic will be started as a hub and spoke model at Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt.
Vij further informed that the doctors of psychiatry department PGI (Hub) will run additional OPD services once a week, provide psychiatric training to doctors and also provide tele-consultation services for patients with mental disorders who are diagnosed and treated in civil hospital. Difficult (spoke) ). In future, online training of doctors of other districts will also be started and more such tele-mental health clinics will be set up across the state in a phased manner.
The MoU has been signed between Dr. Veena Singh, DGHS, Haryana and Dr. Debashish Basu, HOD Psychiatry on behalf of Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The MoU will be valid for five years, informed Vij.
