In Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, a youth thrashed one of his friends to death in front of his mother. The young man was also brought up by the same woman. The police have started looking into the dispute. Police officials said that police have started looking for Raj Singh Kanwar (27) on the charge of killing Basant Kanwar (28) in Bhulsidih village under Balko police station area. He told that Basant and Raj, residents of Bhulsidih village, were childhood friends, Raj’s parents had passed away a few years ago, since then Basant’s mother Jamuna Bai Kanwar was also his friend.

Police officials said that on Sunday, Raj, who was in an inebriated condition, went to his friend Basant’s house and called Basant outside. As soon as he came out, Raj started beating him with a stick. Hearing the noise, Basant’s mother reached there and tried to wake up her son. But Raj overpowers Basant and from there the visa is done. He told that after getting information about the incident, the villagers reached there and informed the police about it. Later the police team admitted the injured youth to the hospital from where he was sent to Bilaspur for better treatment. Basant died during treatment.
Basant’s mother Jamuna Bai told the police that she used to take care of Raj ever since his parents passed away. He is not aware of why Raj attacked Basant. Police officials said that the police have registered a case and started demanding the offer Raj. It was only after his arrest that it was known why he had killed his friend.
