The Sea of ​​Galilee is the second lowest body of water in the world, approximately 214 meters below sea level, and presents many challenges such as whirlpools and erratic wind storms.

The 21-year-old Dadiyala is the first Asian swimmer to swim in the Sea of ​​Galilee, setting a world record of swimming 32 km in open water in 5 hours 36 minutes in November 2022 in Goa.

He began the swim at 5:18 a.m. on Friday, when it was pitch dark and extremely cold, and finished the challenging swim at 11:33 a.m., equaling the current world record for the fastest male swimmer to have swum the Sea of ​​Galilee. try.

The record for the fastest unilateral swim was set by Guy Cohen in 2017 on his seventh attempt. PTI by Aryan’s father Surjit Dadiyala, who called it a “proud moment for the country”.

The event was observed and certified by the Galilee Marathon Swimming Association, Israel and Indian diplomat Pavan K. Pal, who heads the Public Diplomacy Division at the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv.

The swimmer was accompanied by his entire family, coach Rahul Chiplunkar, guide Subodh Sule and crew Pavitra Poilkar during this mammoth endeavor and is looking forward to take up such challenges in the future highlighting various reasons.

Aryan moved to Spire Institute and Academy in Ohio, United States for two years in 2018 and was later made their brand ambassador for India.
