A look out circular has been issued against Union Minister Narayan Rane’s wife Neelam and MLA-son Nitesh in cases related to outstanding loans.

Look-out circulars have been issued by authorities against Union Minister Narayan Rane’s wife Neelam and MLA-son Nitesh in connection with cases related to outstanding loans taken from a financial institution, a senior Pune police officer said on Thursday.

Look out circular is a notice that prohibits a person from leaving the country.

Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Srinivas Ghadge said that on September 3, look out circulars were issued against Neelam Rane and Nitesh Rane.

Nitesh Rane said his family will challenge the circular in the Bombay High Court and question the authority of the Pune Police when they have expressed their willingness to clear the dues.

DCP Ghadge said Artline Properties Pvt Ltd (main borrower), a firm owned by Neelam Rane, had taken a loan of Rs 25 crore from DHFL (Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd) in which she was a co-borrower and the account was outstanding. 27.13 crore was more than Rs.

Similarly, Nitesh Rane-owned Neelam Hotels had also taken loan from private financial institution whose dues were over Rs 34 crore, the DCP said.

Both the loan accounts were later classified as NPA (Non-Performing Assets – Declared due to default or arrears) by DHFL due to non-payment, the police officer said.

As both the accounts were classified as NPAs, the financial institution approached the Centre, which then issued directions to the state government and as a result, look-out circulars were issued, he said.

The look-out circular, addressed to the Mumbai airport and issued against Neelam Rane, said, “There is an apprehension that the said co-borrower may leave the country at any time to evade the repayment of the loan granted by DHFL and to evade legal proceedings.” action can be taken”.

“It is necessary to open the LOC (look-out circular) of the co-borrower so as to maintain the travel history of the co-borrower and avoid evasion of repayment of loan taken from DHFL,” reads the circular.

Pune Police in its notice has asked the airport authorities to inform them whenever the co-borrower is stopped at the airport.

When asked about the look out circular issued against BJP leader Rane’s wife and son, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said the state government has received a letter from the Center in this regard and has been asked to take appropriate action. .

Talking to reporters in Pune, he said that the letter was issued to the state home ministry and then further action could be taken.

Meanwhile, while talking to a regional channel, Nitesh Rane said that his loan accounts with DHFL were in the Mumbai branch of the financial firm, while the circulars were issued by the Pune Police.

“Under what authority did the crime branch of Pune Police issue the circular?” he questioned.

He claimed that five months ago, he had given a letter to the financial firm seeking “settlement” of the loan accounts and hence there was no significance of issuing such circulars.

Nitesh Rane said, ‘We will challenge the circular in the high court’.

He dismissed suggestions that the Rane family was in trouble – the circulars were issued days after Narayan Rane was arrested last month for his ‘slap’ remarks against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Nitesh Rane said, “It is not the Rane family that is in trouble, it is the Pune Police Crime Branch and the (ruling) Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi that will be in trouble.”

“Where is the question of getting us into trouble when we have already expressed our willingness to clear the dues,” he said.

He claimed that such circulars were being issued because he (Rane) was exposing “scams” in the Shiv Sena-led MVA government, he claimed.
