Personalized T-shirts usually mean adding to a photo, print or logo. Or get it customized in the color or fabric of your choice. But Chennai-based entrepreneur Gaurav Goenka takes it a step further. Hungover (on Instagram @ hungover.in) introduces a made-to-measure feature for tees. Updated to suit the needs of the pandemic, the processes went online last year. “Our algorithm is designed to obtain a client’s measurement with four or five simple questions,” says Goenka.

A sample T-shirt with said measurements is shipped with a custom-made measuring tape and card. “It is filled with changes, if any, made by the customer, photographed and WhatsApped to us,” Goenka further said, adding that in two weeks, customers would have received their bespoke T-shirts. Is. “We studied 2400 patterns [body types] Which we reduced to 85 to prepare the final algorithm,” he revealed. Men in their 30s to 70s make up the demographic. “Most Indian men have a punch, which is why they go with t-shirts that are oversized. As a result, the fit is lost,” he explains.

Round-neck, V-neck and collar (polo) tees, with full and half sleeves and without pockets, are available in six to 12 colors. And today when the discussions range from ultra-soft pima or Egyptian cotton to the ‘organic’ tag, Goenka has opted to go with simple Indian cotton as “we use the best available in the country”. The family has been in the knitwear business for over 40 years and exports to European and West Asia-based brands. Plans are underway to add sweat and gym wear. And a women’s line, which according to Goenka would take time since “women are very selective”.
