A luxury car caught fire in Vile Parle area on Express Highway and no casualty was reported

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stopped his convoy to help road accident victims on Mumbai’s Western Express Highway in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to officials, the fire broke out in the Vile Parle area on the express highway, a major north-south main road in Mumbai and in Mr. Shinde’s convoy, which was halted to help the car occupant. No one was reported to be injured. The fire department received an emergency call about the fire at 12:25 pm, immediately two fire tenders were dispatched to the spot and the fire was brought under control in no time.

Mr. Shinde’s convoy was passing on the opposite road and the car stopped to help the passenger. A video of the incident in which Chief Minister Shinde was seen talking to the car driver went viral on social media.

The chief minister was inquiring about the whereabouts of the driver, who identified himself as Vikrant Shinde, a resident of Worli. Further, he asked the driver and occupant not to approach the car affected by the fire, saying that life is important and assured help before leaving.
