MPPSC announces SSE-2019 pre-results six months after MPHC order – Times of India

Indore: The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) on Monday declared the revised results of the State Service Examination (SSE)-2019 prelims in which 13279 candidates have been declared qualified under two list formulas- main and provisional.
The MP High Court on April 7 this year directed the commission for the SSE-2019 Pre-Result Revision, while declaring the Examination Rules 2020 ultra vires. The rules of the examination barred the selection of meritorious category (OBC, SC, ST) students to UR seats in the preliminary and main examination stage.
Out of those 13279 qualified candidates, 13180 will appear in the main examination for 593 posts for state services, 22 for ex-servicemen and 90 for six posts for forest services.
The commission, in an official release published on its website, announced that all the qualified candidates will have to appear in the main examination to be held in January next year.
The commission said that the selected candidates will have to fill the form for the main examination, but those who had filled the form for the same under the earlier result are exempted from filling it.
Exempted candidates are those who appeared in main examination before MP High Court for pre-result revision instruction.
R Panchabhai, OSD, MPPSC said, “The commission declared the revised preliminary results for SSE-2019 under two list formulae. 13180 were declared qualified to appear for the State Services Examination and 99 to appear in the Main Examination for the Forest Services.
“Earlier, only 10,767 qualified in the preliminary results declared earlier. The new formula provides more students a chance to appear in the main examination”, said Panchbhai.
In the two-list formula, the commission divided the total 593 advertised posts into two parts- 87% and 13%. Under the main list the result for 87% posts and provisional list for 13% post is published.
In the provisional list, 13% candidates from UR category and OBC category are selected, whose final selection will depend on the outcome of the 27% OBC reservation issue pending before the court.
Similarly, the commission declared the result for 193 posts of dental surgeon written examination, where 227 candidates were declared qualified in the main list for 87 per cent of the total posts.
Interestingly, the commission did not find any eligible candidates for the provisional list in the examination.
