Police breath easier when BJP’s program ends peacefully

Telangana Police heaved a sigh of relief after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Vijay Sankalp Sabha ended on Sunday evening. The police feared a traffic jam due to the large crowd gathering.

Not only the Civil Police, but hundreds of personnel from the Traffic, Special, Cyber, IT and Intelligence wings made a coordinated effort for a hassle-free event.

While the party’s national executive had a closed-door meeting at the Hyderabad International Convention Center on Saturday, the gathering at the Parade Ground remained a challenge, especially in regulating traffic within the city and connecting state highways.

The massive gathering from the districts at the meeting on Sunday ensured a full-house polling at the venue well-established with rain proof tents.

Traffic rules

Designated parking areas and passes for different categories, multiple flex signs for attendees and road users, unobstructed bus and metro rail services, and police ensured nearly free-flowing traffic while ensuring quick and efficient traffic signs at junctions .

However, the traffic volume was at its peak, leading to congestion at many places. Several roads remained blocked for a long time from 7.30 pm till the end of the programme.

Apart from the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces, the State Police Force was on its toes to plan, assist and ensure law and order.

The Bhagyalakshmi temple in Charminar was in focus when Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state BJP leaders planned to visit. Initially scheduled for Saturday, sources indicated that intelligence inputs suggested it be rescheduled on Sunday morning, and it passed smoothly.

On Sunday, all 15 entrances to the gathering place were guarded by both the forces, who checked persons and prevented anyone with luggage from entering.

technology works

According to Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Stephen Ravindra, the massive planning, precise coordination with all specialized branches and the technology-equipped force helped ensure an incident-free incident.

“HICC-Novotel was equipped with around 600 advanced CCTV cameras in and around the venue. A press release by Cyberabad Police said a five-km radius, including the site and the premises, was mapped using 3D technology, and a special command control center was set up for real-time monitoring and action.
