Singapore’s popular tourist destination Sentosa marks its golden jubilee with a number of recreational and culinary activities.

Soon, in addition to spa jaunts, visits to the rainforest, and sunsets on the beach, you’ll be able to take a speed boat ride in Sentosa, Singapore.

The one-hour ride on the newly launched service at the famous island resort is set to become an iconic attraction for tourists, says S Kogu, Director-Founder, YachtCruiseSg.

As part of Sentosa’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations (1972–2022), the country has also waived the entry fee for all visitors until 30 September.

The first of its kind speed boat in Sentosa has started taking online reservations. The hour-long ride will touch down on St. John’s Island, and feature live commentary. Another new addition located near Silosa Beach is Scentopia. Here, one can experience more than 300 scent displays, and visitors can choose a scent of their choice – after a personality test on touchless ‘aroma machines’ – which is then filled into crystal bottles.

Sentosa Attractions

For food lovers, a wide range of seafood, pizza, burgers, juices and ice cream await at the open restaurant, including the ever-popular organic coconut water, served cold to combat the heat. According to Singapore Tourism Board (STB) officials, the Sentosa Development Corporation has given space to local artisans to display their crafts, which draws a steady flow of visitors during the weekend.

Sentosa isn’t the only place to get a makeover. Make your way to Chi Seng Huat Hardware (CSHH) Coffee Bar. Situated along Tyrvit Road in the Jalan Besar district of Singapore, CSHH was in the past home to several metal and hardware companies. The building’s name, meaning ‘to flourish again’, was conceived collaboratively to pay homage to the hardware heritage of the region.

Another attraction for heritage enthusiasts is the Hall of Fame at Kampong Gelam, which is located amongst the many tall and multi-storey buildings in the area. It also houses the largest mosque in Singapore, surrounded by shops selling souvenirs and crafts.

Visit the popular Ice Cream Museum, where you can learn about the world’s favorite summer treat, and play in a cheery “sprinkle pool.” End the trip with a double scoop of Taro Boba Milk Tea Ice Cream and Banana Caramel Shake.
